Nodes

A node is a hosting server running nexpanel-agent. Open Servers › Nodes to see every node with its load, memory, disk, accounts and service status.

Node overview

Each node has an Overview tab with:

  • Node identity & agent — hostname, public IP and node ID (with copy buttons), the last agent heartbeat and agent version, uptime, last reboot, maintenance state and location.
  • Key numbers — hosted accounts against the node's limit, CPU load, memory, disk and HTTP requests per second with the trend against the previous 10 minutes and the number of active connections.
  • Needs attention — incidents ordered by likely customer impact (Critical, High, Medium): the agent not reporting, a failed service, the web server down, a full disk, many server errors or blocked requests on a domain, accounts hitting resource limits, waiting or failed jobs. Admins can dismiss a notice; it comes back if the problem clears and returns later.
  • Core services — every service the node runs, plus backups and the agent itself.
  • PHP Selector Breakdown, MariaDB Performance (connections, slow queries, buffer pool hit rate, database size) and Abuse & Inode Monitor (accounts near their inode limit, WAF attacks per domain, mail queue).
  • Domains with high HTTP activity — requests per second, visitors, bandwidth, 5xx rate and a Diagnose link to the domain's access log.
  • Top resource-consuming accounts — CPU, memory, entry processes and disk I/O from the LVE manager.
  • Recent events and Recent jobs, with 5, 10, 25 or 50 rows.

Node tabs

Tab Purpose
Services Start, stop and restart services
Processes Top processes; kill a process or all processes of an account
MySQL Running queries; kill a query
MultiPHP & INI Install PHP versions, extensions and server-wide INI values
Web Server Install, update, reinstall, remove and switch the web server
Logs System, web server, mail and per-domain logs
System & Updates Operating system package updates
phpMyAdmin Install phpMyAdmin with its own SSL certificate
Isolation (cage) Account isolation setup — see Account isolation
Settings Name, location, IP, account limit, hostname and the agent enrollment token

Maintenance mode

Enable maintenance (top right of the overview) keeps every site online but stops NexPanel from placing new accounts on the node. Use it before hardware work or a migration. It is recorded in the audit log.

Node actions

The Node actions menu has shortcuts to refresh service status, the process manager, MySQL processes, logs, system updates, the web server and node settings, and two reboot options:

  • Reboot server — stops services cleanly, then restarts the server.
  • Forceful reboot — restarts immediately; only for a server that does not respond to a graceful reboot.

Both ask you to type the node name to confirm. Sites are unavailable until the server is back (usually 1–3 minutes).

Jobs

Every change sent to a node is a job. Overview › Agent jobs lists them with their status and output. A failed job can be retried with Retry; NexPanel refuses to retry a job when a newer job of the same kind exists, so an old change never overwrites a newer one.
